Scheduling

Our club uses the ScheduleMaster scheduling system. This is an extremely good system that allows you to make bookings, modify them or cancel them using either a touch tone phone or through the web. ScheduleMaster allows you to set up "alerts" which will tell you when a plane is available, if it was booked when you first looked but the person booking it changes his or her mind and cancels the reservation. These alerts can be delivered through email, or via touch-tone pager, or via fax.

Since we've gone to ScheduleMaster from our previous booking method, the number of hours flown per member have gone up. Originally we partly attributed this to the booming economy, which had increased the amount of flying going on nation wide, but the trend continued after the economy tanked and the amount of flying going on in the nation went down. I think we can thank ScheduleMaster, which has made it easier to get a plane when you want.
